What a pleasure it was to be a part of the Mayor’s Business Breakfast organized by The Grimsby Economic Development Advisory Committee (GEDAC) last week!
The event brought the business community together to network and share ideas. We learned that within the next 3-5 years, Grimsby will experience a $3 billion boom, and that the industrial/commercial and institutional sector alone will create approximately 1,000 new direct jobs by 2025. This multiplier effect will be unprecedented for our community, and the Town will build on this momentum, as they advance their updated Economic Development Strategic Action plan.
Guest speaker, Brock Dickinson, Adjunct Professor and Entrepreneur in Residence from Waterloo University, was extremely engaging to listen to. He discussed geopolitical issues as they specifically relate to economic development in Grimsby. Brock also took a look at the sometimes frightening world of tomorrow, and what it could mean for our local businesses and our community.
We know that as a diverse group of individuals, we each contribute to the vibrant tapestry that makes our Town of Grimsby unique and we are dedicated to working closely with our business community to ensure we all thrive amongst one another. Continued collaboration is always key and we are privileged to facilitate this for you all.
