Chamber Committees help our members
As a voluntary organization of business and professional people whose aim is to advance the interests of the community, we rely on the expertise of several committees to support our board and membership.
Our committees include:
Policy / Government Affairs
The Policy and Government Affairs Committee reviews and responds to issues affecting Chamber members and the business community. They also work to revise or establish policy on municipal, regional, provincial, and federal government issues.
Sponsorship / Partners
Our Sponsorship and Partners Committee plays a big role in developing sponsors for events and advertising on the website and in our directory. It’s a great way to network with the wider community.
Events
The Events Committee helps organize and execute our AGM, the Business Excellence & Citizen of the Year Awards Celebration, and the annual Charity Golf Tournament, as well our breakfasts, Business After 5 events, and our new Lunch & Learn series. The Events Committee meets at the Chamber office on the second Tuesday of each month, at noon. Communications
Our Communications Committee liaises with the local media, communicates with local economic development and government affairs committees, and helps to promote Chamber events.
Programs & Education
This Committee produces business education seminars and coordinates guests/speakers. They promote joint Chamber meetings and coordinate breakfast events.
Membership
Building our Membership is one of our most important tasks. This Committee reviews and communicates membership benefits, assists with new member orientation, and helps with our Outreach/Ambassador program.
