Our volunteer Board of Directors is a diverse group representing businesses and non-profit organizations throughout Grimsby and the Niagara Region. Dedicated members of the Grimsby Chamber, the board comes together to provide expertise, strategic direction, and overall guidance to the Chamber. The Board’s role is a vital one, bringing leadership, integrity, innovation, and a tremendous pool of knowledge to Chamber activities.

Daniel Vandersteen

The Dutch Shop

Daniel is a Grimsby native with a passion for marketing and technology. After graduating as a graphic designer, Daniel worked in Toronto, St Catharines, and Niagara Falls in digital marketing and web development before returning home to take over The Dutch Shop in 2019.

As the owner of one of Grimsby’s oldest continuously running businesses, Daniel has a respect for tradition and history, while seeing opportunities to modernize and reimagine business. He is excited to work with local businesses to help Grimsby realize its full potential.

Daniel lives in Grimsby with a house plant that’s not doing great.

Kendra Wintels

Past Chair

Kinetic Elements Dance Studio

Kendra is a fully certified dance educator that runs Kinetic Elements Dance Inc. a dance studio in downtown Grimsby. Kendra has traveled and performed all around the World. She is happy to call Grimsby her home.

Kendra has also a graduate from George Brown College in their Social Service Worker program. From there Kendra has developed her own program for young dancers called Decipher to use movement and dance as a tool to help them recognize their strengths, build confidence and develop their self-esteem.

Gijs de Groot

The Foundation of Resources for Teens.

Gijs is the Executive Director of the Foundation of Resources for Teens (The FORT), a charity supporting at-risk youth in West Niagara. With over four years of experience with The FORT, Gijs brings a strong background in nonprofit operations, including fundraising, policy development, and financial management.

Having studied Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Gijs is passionate about applying business strategies and tools to strengthen nonprofit operations and move beyond traditional approaches. He also works actively with community and corporate partners to strengthen The FORT through meaningful communication and relationship-building.

Miriam Cacciacarro

Studio Forte

Miriam Cacciacarro is a Canadian violinist, performer, and music educator known for her expressive playing and dedication to musical excellence. She began studying the violin at the age of five, drawn to its brilliant tone and lyrical voice. From an early age, she was actively involved in orchestral and chamber music and has performed in a wide variety of venues across Ontario.

Throughout her musical career, Miriam has performed with several distinguished ensembles, including Etobicoke Youth Strings, serving as first violin with the Mississauga Youth Orchestra for two years. She has also collaborated with musicians from Aradia Ensemble and Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, performing works such as Messiah by George Frideric Handel. Additional performances include collaborations with the Georgetown Bach Chorale, including an arrangement of Don Quixote.

Beyond performing, Miriam is a passionate educator and the founder and director of Studio Forte Music School, a thriving music studio in the Niagara region that has received recognition for its excellence in music education. Through her teaching, she has mentored many young musicians, guiding them in technical development, performance opportunities, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Miriam continues to perform as a soloist and chamber musician at concerts, weddings, and special events while maintaining an active role as a music director and teacher. Her work reflects a deep commitment to artistry, education, and sharing the beauty of music with the community.

With more than 15 years of experience in the marketing industry, he brings a deep understanding of branding, storytelling, and strategic growth, offering insights on how businesses can stand out, connect with their audience, and build lasting recognition in their communities.

Serina Carbone

DeSantis Homes

Serina is the Vice President of Operations & Sales at DeSantis Homes, where she oversees construction, service, design, sales, and marketing. With 13 years at the company, she has played a key role in managing the design, marketing, and sales of more than 1,500 new homes and condos. Serina’s in-depth knowledge of evolving construction technologies, industry policies, and her ability to solve complex problems have been instrumental in driving DeSantis Homes to national recognition.

Serina’s career began at an art-focused post-secondary institution, where she discovered her passion for the creative arts. This influence continues to shape her approach to ensuring that each community DeSantis builds reflects artistic vision. Before joining DeSantis Homes, she gained valuable experience in digital advertising, managing over 200 clients, from small businesses to multinational corporations.

Throughout her career, Serina has been actively involved in important causes and organizations in Hamilton and Halton. She has served as Board Chair for Halton Food For Thought, as well as an event committee member for the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. Additionally, Serina served two terms as a Director for the West End Home Builders Association.

At home, Serina enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors with her young son, husband, and dog. She loves being on the water and embraces quality family moments.

Sherry Gibson

OneSource Moving Solutions

Sherry co-owns OneSource Moving Solutions , a full-service moving company specializing in senior moves, household downsizing, and estate clear-outs. We provide customized solutions to every client. Our compassionate and comprehensive approach  reduces moving stress and makes the experience move positive for our clients and their families.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Sherry had a successful career creating new products and managing top food and beverage brands at companies including Kelloggs, Tim Hortons, Maple Leaf Foods, and Bacardi Canada.

As a lifelong Grimsby resident, Sherry is excited to become more involved in our community and looks forward to using her marketing and project management skills to help local businesses thrive.

Lisa Hensen

Lisa Hensen is a local real estate professional and business owner based in Grimsby, Ontario. As the founder of LP Realty Network & Consulting, she brings a unique combination of real estate expertise and certified appraisal experience, allowing her to provide accurate, strategic guidance to her clients.

Lisa is deeply committed to her community and is known for organizing large-scale local events and charitable initiatives, including her annual Easter Egg Hunt supporting the GBF Community Services. She is passionate about building strong relationships, supporting local families, and contributing to the continued growth and vibrancy of Grimsby.

Justin Iacoboni

Justin is a Mortgage Agent focused on delivering strategic, client-centered financing solutions that support both immediate needs and long-term financial success. With a strong emphasis on transparency and relationship-building, he is committed to helping clients navigate the mortgage process with confidence.

He brings that same mindset to his role on the board, where he values collaboration, thoughtful decision-making, and contributing to meaningful community impact.

Justin lives in Grimsby with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he enjoys being with his family and getting out for a round of golf.

Tammy Snow-Johnston

Train2Empower Fitness

Tammy is a Certified Personal Trainer, Women’s Coaching, and Menopause Coaching Specialist. Her goal is to empower women to discover and embrace all that’s possible for their lives and their bodies. Using her 10+ years of real-world training experience and education, she provides knowledge, instruction, and support for lasting change through evidence-based, safe, and effective fitness and nutrition coaching.

She works with her clientele to find solutions that help them reach their goals in a realistic, sustainable, and compassionate way, whether the goal is looking or feeling healthy, fit, or strong.

Train2Empower Fitness was founded to provide practical guidance in a safe space where women can feel empowered to move toward their goals, no matter what they are.

Rebecca Shelley

Executive Director

Rebecca provides the Chamber with excellent management of membership programs and events.

She brings 20 years of professional experience to her role with the Grimsby & District Chamber of Commerce, most recently from Bell Media. Rebecca has many years of office management, administrative, organizational, and coordination experience. Her background includes small- and medium-sized businesses, including a wine agency, a media company, and an IT security firm, as well as large corporations, including retails headquarters and communications firms.
