Chamber Committees
Chamber Committees & Task Forces Help Our Members
The Grimsby Chamber of Commerce is powered by passionate volunteers, business leaders, and community-minded individuals who help shape the work we do throughout the year. From advocacy initiatives and member engagement to special events and governance, our committees and task forces play an important role in supporting the Chamber’s mission and strategic priorities.
Getting involved is a meaningful way to contribute your skills, share your perspective, expand your network, and help strengthen the local business community.
Current Committees
Interested in applying your knowledge and expertise to the Chamber without committing to a role on the Board of Directors? Joining a committee is a great way to get involved, collaborate with fellow professionals, and contribute to initiatives that directly support our Chamber community.
Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy Committee helps identify and elevate issues impacting local businesses while supporting the Chamber’s role as a voice for the business community. Through discussion, collaboration, and ongoing dialogue, this committee contributes to advocacy initiatives that encourage economic growth, business success, and community development.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee focuses on strengthening member engagement, enhancing the overall member experience, and supporting initiatives that encourage connection within the Chamber community. Committee members help foster welcoming opportunities for businesses to build relationships, access resources, and maximize the value of Chamber membership.
Operational Task Forces (OTFs)
Sounds intense, right? We promise it’s not! Simply put, Operational Task Forces (OTFs) are focused, action-oriented working groups created to support specific Chamber initiatives, projects, programs, or strategic objectives. These groups are time-bound and designed to bring together individuals with relevant skills, ideas, and expertise to help move important initiatives forward.
Special Events Task Force
The Special Events Task Force supports the planning and execution of some of the Chamber’s signature events, including the ElevateHER, Annual Golf Tournament and Business Excellence Awards. Members contribute ideas, assist with event experience and logistics, and help create memorable opportunities that celebrate and connect our local business community.
Municipal Election Initiatives Task Force (2026 Only)
Created specifically for this year’s 2026 municipal election cycle, this task force will support Chamber initiatives related to local elections, business engagement, and community awareness. The group will help encourage informed dialogue around key business issues while supporting opportunities for members to engage with local candidates and election-related programming.

Standing Committees of the Board
While much of the work of these committees happens behind the scenes, their contributions are essential to the strength, sustainability, and governance of the organization. These standing committees provide strategic oversight, leadership support, accountability, and guidance to help ensure the Chamber continues operating effectively and responsibly.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee supports the overall leadership and strategic direction of the Chamber between regular Board meetings. Working closely with staff and Board leadership, this committee helps guide organizational priorities, governance matters, and key decision-making processes.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee provides oversight and guidance related to the Chamber’s financial health, budgeting, and fiscal planning. The committee helps support responsible financial stewardship and long-term organizational sustainability.
Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee supports the recruitment and recommendation process for Board leadership and governance succession planning. The committee works to identify individuals whose experience, skills, and perspectives will help strengthen the Chamber and support its future growth.
