Planning for Progress in Grimsby: Business Stakeholder Engagement Session – Tues, Dec 3

We are thrilled to be working with the Town of Grimsby’s Planning Department and partnering with the Grimsby Downtown BIA to bring you this interactive stakeholder engagement session!

The Town of Grimsby is reviewing its Official Plan, and your voice as a local business owner is vital to the process. This is more than just a meeting—it’s an opportunity to influence how all of Grimsby grows and evolves over the next 25+ years.
Join us for this focused drop-in session, organized by the Grimsby Downtown BIA and the Grimsby Chamber of Commerce, at Station One’s 24 Steps Lounge, to share your insights and ideas with the Town’s Planning Department.
What to Expect
4:00 PM: Event begins—connect with other business leaders and explore interactive materials showcasing the work completed so far and what’s to come next.
4:30 PM: A brief presentation on the Official Plan Review and its impact on Grimsby’s business community.
4:45–6:00 PM: Participate in hands-on activities, including a mapping exercise where you can identify challenges or growth opportunities for your business. Share feedback on key questions about your vision for Grimsby and receive answers directly from planning staff.
The Official Plan is a roadmap for the future, shaping decisions on growth, infrastructure, and land use across the entire municipality (not just downtown). Your feedback will help ensure the plan reflects the needs of the business community.
We want to know your answers to questions like:
- What are the biggest challenges you have today regarding your business?
- Are you planning on expanding your business or starting a new one in the next five to ten years? If so, what land-based considerations might pose a challenge for you?
- Are there opportunities for your business to grow that you hope the official plan review will consider?
- Are there other supports for business that you feel the Town should consider?
And feedback on the following topics like:
- Mixed-use zoning (eg, a complementary mix of residential, commercial, and/or industrial uses)
- Where you would like to see housing, taking into account ideas like what/where other community amenities could go (parks, services, childcare, healthcare, etc)
- Considerations for tourism development (accommodations, hotel/restaurant combinations, etc.)
