Democracy is stronger when we treat each other with respect. We have signed the Elect Respect pledge ahead of our 2026 municipal elections to help build a better future for our Chamber, business and resident communities.

Endorsement of the Elect Respect resolution is explicitly non-partisan. It does not support or oppose any political party, candidate, or policy position. It focuses instead on how dialogue occurs, emphasizing civility, professionalism, and respect, regardless of differing views.
Why is this appropriate for the Chamber to endorse?
- The Chamber routinely promotes respectful workplace culture and professional conduct.
- Business leaders are community leaders and role models.
- A healthy business climate relies on trust, collaboration, and safe participation in civic life.
Many boards are stepping forward to endorse the Elect Respect Resolution, helping to strengthen a culture of respectful, civil, and solutions-focused governance. See our logo amongst other Chamber and Board of Trade logos proudly displayed on the Elect Respect website → Boards
