Municipal Election – Meet Your Candidates October 6, 2022

On October 6, the Grimsby Chamber hosted a Meet Your Candidates evening at The Casablanca Hotel. The event created an opportunity for the business community and the public to engage with candidates running in the 2022 Municipal Election. The evening began with an informal Meet & Greet for Mayoral, Regional Councillor, School Board Trustee, and Ward Councillor candidates, followed by a Q&A session with the Regional Councillor Candidates. The main event of the payid casino evening was the Mayoral Candidate debate; if you weren’t able to join us in person, you can view the it here.

Tremendous thanks to our broadcast partner, Cogeco YourTV Niagara, for filming the debate and making it available for everyone to view on their website. We are lucky to have a great community partner like Cogeco!

Niagara This Week also joined us for evening; you can find their coverage here.

Heartfelt thanks, too, to our sponsors – your support made this event possible!

Thank you to board members Mina Johl (moderator) and Alex Heidbuechel (timekeeper) for their time and energy keeping the evening running smoothly!

Chamber Coffee Break at Station 1 Coffeehouse

THANKS FOR JOINING US!

What a fantastic day we had for our first in-person event of the year! We had a amazing group of attendees join us on Thursday, April 28 for a mid-afternoon coffee break, to connect with their peers in the business community, while enjoying some coffee and treats (and a bit of road noise) on the Station 1 Coffeehouse patio. Thanks to everyone who braved the breeze, enjoyed the sunshine, and created some new connections.

September Networking Breakfast Well Attended

We kicked off the Fall 2018 season in style, with over 50 people at JJ’s On The Docks Eatery on September 6. We welcomed several new members, including Brenda and Maryanne from Kanga Storage, Lesley and Leandro from LD Marketing, and Ray and Sandra Swash from Dream Wedding Officiants and Vacation Travel Group. Laura Reilly, who is opening up a local bed and breakfast (Caéd Míle Fáilté) and has just joined the chamber also dropped by to talk about her new venture.

Thanks to all who came out to make the event a great success! Special thanks to John and Josie Dunstall and the staff at JJ’s, who pulled out all the stops to put on breakfast for such a large group, and sent everyone home with a smaller version of their famous coconut cream pie – what a treat!

We look forward to seeing everyone at the next breakfast in October!

Hockey Game

A very special event with a new member of our chamber.  March 15th, 2018  is Grimsby Night at the Niagara IceDogs!  The game will be against Hamilton Bulldogs.

It is “the game” where not only Mayor Bob Bentley will be at center ice to start the game, but he will also present  Hamilton Bulldogs, Brandon Saigeon, an award for representing Grimsby at the highest level in minor league hockey.  So very special for Brandon and our community!

Come out and enjoy our Grimsby Night game and sit in a section reserved for Grimsby.  Bring the family or some co-workers and have a pregame skate from 5:00 to 6:00.

And… any business or community group in town buying 20 or more tickets will get a shout out on the Jumbotron, with your logo!

Tickets are only $13 per person.  We have them for sale at our Chamber office now or if you can’t stop in, just call David Maitland at the IceDogs directly, to book and pay for your tickets.   905-687-3641 #226.

These tickets will make a great gift or stocking stuffer for Christmas.  And if you buy your tickets before December 22nd, you’ll receive a voucher for a FREE Faceoff Gameday Program on March 15th!!

It will be a really great night so let’s get a large “Grimsby crowd” there for the game!
