More than 60 people came through the doors within the first hour of the Grimsby Municipal Election Meet & Greet on Saturday, October 3, and the steady turnout continued throughout the afternoon.
We welcomed all four mayoral candidates, along with candidates running for Ward and school board trustee positions, for an opportunity to meet with members of the community and have conversations about the upcoming municipal election.
It was great to see such an engaged and respectful atmosphere throughout the day. Candidates were open and willing to speak with residents, share their perspectives and answer questions, while community members had the opportunity to connect with candidates in person and learn more about the people putting their names forward.
The event also gave the candidates an opportunity to meet and connect with one another – something that doesn’t necessarily happen during a municipal election campaign – which added another positive element to the day.
A special thank you to all of the candidates who participated and helped create a welcoming space for open, respectful conversations about the election, local issues and their platforms. And thank you to the Chamber board volunteers who gave their time to help make the day possible. We truly appreciate your support!

The Meet & Greet was one opportunity to connect with candidates in person, but there are plenty of ways to continue learning about the upcoming municipal election.
Our Grimsby Municipal Election Resource Hub brings together election information, upcoming events and resources to help you stay informed. The Town of Grimsby also has election information and resources available, and candidates may be contacted directly through their campaign channels and social media.
You can also hear directly from the mayoral candidates through our Grimsby Connected podcast series, with four conversations covering growth, infrastructure, economic development, town hall leadership, and more.
And there’s one more opportunity to connect in person this week!
Our exclusive Power Hour takes place on Thursday, October 8 from 4–5 PM at Commisso Estate Winery. This more intimate, business-focused event will feature all four mayoral candidates in a moderated conversation about the future of Grimsby and our business community. The event will not be recorded, and tickets include a glass of wine and light refreshments.
Space is limited, so if you’d like to be part of the conversation, register for Power Hour today!
