Ribbon Cutting Recap: Celebrating Grimsby Rehab Collective’s New Space & Growing Team

We were so pleased to celebrate Grimsby Rehab Collective’s new location with an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony last week, marking an exciting milestone for the growing team of health and wellness practitioners.

The evening brought together friends, family, clients, fellow business owners, Chamber members, and community supporters for a celebration that felt every bit as welcoming as the space itself. One of the most memorable parts of the evening was seeing so many people come out to show their support, not only for the business, but for the people behind it. The strong turnout reflected the relationships the team has built within the community and the impact they continue to have on the lives of their clients.

We were pleased to welcome Chamber Board Chair Daniel Vandersteen, Board Member Serena Carbone,  Mark Wood, Chair of the Downtown Grimsby BIA and owner of the Forty Public House, Regional Councillor, Michelle Seaborn, as well as a representative from MPP Sam Oosterhoff’s office who presented a congratulatory certificate on behalf of the province. It was also wonderful to see members of Grimsby’s downtown business community in attendance to help celebrate this exciting achievement.

Guests enjoyed refreshments, conversation, and the opportunity to tour the newly renovated space before gathering for the official ribbon cutting and a celebratory toast.

The new location is a beautiful reflection of the care and intention behind Grimsby Rehab Collective. Bright, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed, the space combines comfort and professionalism while creating an environment that immediately puts visitors at ease. The attention to detail throughout the renovation speaks to the passion and commitment the team has invested in creating a space that serves both their clients and the broader community. Beautiful work!

Grimsby Rehab Collective brings together a diverse team of healthcare and wellness professionals, offering services that support both physical and mental well-being. Through a collaborative approach to care, clients can access a variety of services under one roof, making the clinic a valuable resource for individuals and families throughout the region. If you haven’t checked them out yet, this is your sign!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebration and to Pizza Di Nonna again for helping make the evening even more special with delicious pizza.

Most importantly, congratulations to the entire Grimsby Rehab Collective team on this exciting milestone. We are grateful to have been part of the celebration and look forward to watching your continued growth and success in the years ahead!

2026 OCC Advoacy Day Recap

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, our Executive Director, Rebecca Shelley, and Chair of the Board of Directors, Daniel Vandersteen, had the opportunity to participate in Advocacy Day in Ottawa alongside Chamber and Board of Trade leaders from across Ontario.

One of the most valuable parts of these conversations is the chance to step outside our own community and hear what businesses are experiencing in other corners of the province. While every community is unique, many of the challenges facing employers, entrepreneurs, and business owners are shared: workforce development, economic growth, housing, infrastructure, and creating the conditions businesses need to succeed.

Throughout the day, conversations focused on many of the same issues we hear from businesses here at home: attracting and retaining talent, supporting economic growth, ensuring infrastructure keeps pace with community needs, and creating a business environment where employers can invest and thrive.

Advocacy Day creates space for those conversations to happen directly with provincial decision-makers, while also allowing Chambers to learn from one another, exchange ideas, and bring new perspectives back to the communities we each serve.

For us here at the Grimsby & District Chamber of Commerce, advocacy is not only about speaking on behalf of business. It is also about listening, gathering insight, identifying common challenges, and ensuring local voices remain part of larger conversations that shape our future.

Thank you to the Ontario Chamber of Commerce for bringing together Chamber and Board of Trade representatives from across the province for a day of meaningful discussion, collaboration, and shared learning. It’s always great to step outside our own community for a day, learn from the experiences of others, and return with fresh ideas and perspectives that can help strengthen Grimsby’s business community.

Ribbon Cutting Recap: Celebrating Hassaan & Associates and Their Beautiful New Downtown Grimsby Space

We were honoured to celebrate Hassaan & Associates with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 28, marking an exciting milestone for the business and its continued growth within the Grimsby community.

The celebration brought together an incredible group of supporters, including family, friends, Chamber members, associates, local representatives, and community leaders, all gathered to recognize the impact that Fay Hassaan and her team have already made in Grimsby over the past four years.

We were pleased to welcome Mayor Jeff Jordan, MP Dean Allison, Councillor Reg Freake, Councillor Lianne Vardy, and Chamber Board Chair Daniel Vandersteen to the celebration. Mayor Jordan shared thoughtful remarks ahead of the ribbon cutting, recognizing the passion, professionalism, and dedication that Fay and her team bring not only to their work, but to the community as a whole. MP Dean Allison also shared welcoming words, echoing the importance of supporting businesses and leaders who continue investing in the growth and vibrancy of Grimsby.

One of the most memorable moments of the afternoon was hearing from Fay herself. Her remarks were heartfelt, sincere, and deeply reflective of the passion she carries for both her profession and this community. It was clear to everyone in attendance just how much care and intention she brings to everything she does, and that authenticity is a large part of what makes her such a valued member of the Chamber and Grimsby business community.

The newly renovated law office itself is stunning, beautifully blending heritage elements with modern touches. The office feels both welcoming and refined while still preserving the character of the building.

The energy throughout the afternoon was incredibly positive, with guests coming together not only to celebrate the business itself, but to celebrate Fay as a person and the relationships she has built within the community.

Congratulations again to Fay and the entire Hassaan & Associates team on this exciting milestone! Thank you for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful celebration. We are grateful for your continued support of the Chamber and look forward to many more successful years for Hassaan & Associates in downtown Grimsby!

She Means Business mini branding shoot with Karen Byker of Reflections Photography Studio – Saturday, June 13, 2026

Saturday, June 13, 2026, 10 am – 2 pm

She Means Business is a mini branding shoot event for professional women in the Grimsby and Niagara region and for every Grimsby Chamber member who books, $50 goes back to the Chamber! Thank you, Karen!

*****

You know that feeling when someone looks you up online and you cringe a little?

Maybe it’s the photo from three years ago. The one where the lighting is off, or you look stiff, or it just doesn’t feel like you anymore.

You’ve grown. Your business has grown. But your photos haven’t kept up.

Before anyone reads a single word on your website, they’ve already formed an opinion based on your photo. And if that image doesn’t reflect who you are right now – confident, capable, clear on where you’re going – it’s not doing you justice.

You’ve been meaning to fix this for a while. This is your chance.

What’s Included:

  • A relaxed, guided 15-minute shoot at Reflections Photo Studio in Grimsby
  • Two looks (bring a change of outfit!)
  • Professional guidance on posing – you will never have to wonder what to do with your hands
  • Same-day image viewing so you leave knowing exactly what you’ve got
  • A photo that actually looks like you – confident, warm, real and genuine

This isn’t a full branding package. It’s not a half-day shoot. It’s 15 minutes focused on one thing – creating images you’re genuinely proud of and can use on your website, social media, LinkedIn, business cards, email signature and speaking opportunities.

All women walk out saying they wish they’d done this sooner.

Details:

Saturday, June 13, 2026
Reflections Photo Studio – 410 Winston Road, Grimsby, ON
15-minute sessions (30-minute time slots to keep things relaxed)
$100 + HST session fee paid at booking
Images available for purchase same day – 1 favourite for $100, 10 favourites for $500

Slots are limited. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

Celebrating 15 Years of BioPed Grimsby

We were honoured to join BioPed Grimsby on Friday, May 22, in celebrating an incredible milestone: 15 years of serving and supporting the health and wellness of our community.

The celebration brought together an incredible crowd of family, friends, community members, healthcare professionals, local representatives, and supporters, all gathered to recognize the impact BioPed Grimsby has made over the past decade and a half. Representatives from both Sam Oosterhoff’s office and Dean Allison’s office were in attendance, alongside Mayor Jeff Jordan, who shared thoughtful remarks ahead of the ribbon cutting recognizing the integrity, compassion, and dedication that the BioPed Grimsby team consistently brings to our community.

His words reflected something that we feel was genuinely felt throughout the event – that the work BioPed Grimsby does extends far beyond physical care. Their commitment to helping people move comfortably, confidently, and fully through life has made a meaningful difference for countless individuals and families throughout Grimsby and beyond.

What stood out most (as it always does!) was the sincerity and kindness of the entire BioPed Grimsby team. From the warm welcome guests received at the door to the care and enthusiasm poured into every detail of the celebration, it was clear how deeply this team values what they do. Their hospitality, empathy, and genuine dedication to others created an atmosphere that felt both celebratory and deeply personal.

Guests enjoyed refreshments, a beautiful cake, exciting raffle prizes, a prize wheel (so fun!), and time spent connecting and celebrating together.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Pizza Di Nonna for generously donating two party-size pizzas for the celebration, which were thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you to Chair of the Board Daniel Vandersteen for attending, as well as Regional Councillor Michelle Seaborn for joining in the celebration!

Congratulations on ten years, Nelles Manor Museum!

A wonderful afternoon at one of Grimsby’s heritage landmarks. Congratulations on ten years, Nelles Manor Museum!

On Thursday, May 15, we gathered at Nelles Manor Museum to celebrate a milestone ten years of preserving and sharing the history of our community, and it was a lovely ceremony.

Volunteers and museum team members dressed in period attire to set the scene nicely, bringing a real sense of history and intention to the occasion. It was a detail that made the celebration feel genuine.
We were honoured to have Mayor Jeff Jordan in attendance to say a few words, as well as representatives from the offices of Sam Oosterhoff and Dean Allison. Mayoral candidate, Michelle Seaborn, was also in attendance. Thank you!

A special thank you to Pizza Di Nonna for their incredible generosity. What started as two pizzas became three, and every single slice was enjoyed!

Event Recap: Exclusive Morning at Costco Wholesale Stoney Creek

A great early morning at Costco Wholesale Stoney Creek!

On Tuesday, May 12, the Grimsby Chamber of Commerce joined forces with the Lincoln and West Lincoln Chambers of Commerce for an exclusive early-access morning at Costco Wholesale in Winona, and it was an awesome morning.

With over 60 attendees, 40+ businesses, and 18 sectors represented in the room, this event was a real testament to what collaborative programming can do. Our members had the opportunity to network with peers from across all three chamber communities, hear directly from Costco’s department managers and Business Centre representatives – including an overview of services like next day delivery – and enjoy early access shopping before the doors opened to the public. There was even Costco trivia with prizes thrown in for good measure, which made for a genuinely fun and engaging morning.

A heartfelt thank you to the Costco Wholesale Stoney Creek team for welcoming us with such incredible hospitality. The breakfast spread alone was worth showing up for.

Thank you as well to our partners at the Lincoln and West Lincoln Chambers for making this collaboration such a success, and to Brenda Wilson, Executive Director of the Stoney Creek Chamber, for joining us on the day.

We love doing events like this! When chambers come together, our members get access to experiences and connections they would not otherwise have. Thank you to all who attended! We hope you enjoyed the experience.

Recap: Reflections Studio Ribbon Cutting Ceremony & Open House

What a beautiful morning in Grimsby on the Lake!

On Saturday, May 9th, the Grimsby Chamber of Commerce was honoured to join photographer Karen Byker for the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening of Reflections Photography Studio, and it was every bit as special as we knew it would be.

The studio itself is beautiful. Warm, intentional, and thoughtfully designed from the ground up. A true labour of love. Kudos goes out to Karen’s husband for the incredible work he put into bringing this space to life!

The morning was a real family affair in every sense of the word, with Karen’s children right there at the ribbon cutting holding the doors open, family and close friends filling the rooms, and a community that showed up to celebrate someone who has been serving Niagara families for over two decades.

We were also honoured to be joined by some wonderful community representatives – Chamber Board Chair Daniel Vandersteen, BIA Chair Simon Duong, Michelle Seaborn of the Grimsby Farmers Market, and Councillor Freake – whose presence made the occasion feel even more meaningful.

The refreshments were lovely, the popcorn was a fun touch, and the energy in the space was warm and full of joy.

Congratulations, Karen! Thank you for following your dream and for choosing to plant roots here in Grimsby on the Lake. We are so proud to have Reflections Photography Studio as part of our business community and we cannot wait to watch what comes next.
